If you have learned how to act... Come and learn how not to act!
MICHAEL CHEKHOV ON THE BEACH
INTENSIVE WORKSHOP IN GREECE
An in-depth exploration of Michael Chekhov's acting technique on the island of Aegina in Greece
Organised by the Michael Chekhov Studio, this workshop aims to give participants a practical insight into this approach to theatre. We will begin by exploring the tools and then apply them to the rehearsal and performance process.
The morning work will explore many different aspects of Chekhov's acting technique.
These morning sessions, in addition to the exploration of Michael Chekhov's technique, will include an introduction to the approach to voice work that Chekhov advocated for actors in his training at Dartington Hall and Ridgefield, Connecticut.
This is known as creative speech.
In the afternoon, we will study the application of these same elements of the technique to the chosen play (the theme of the play is to be chosen by Ms Sarah Kane).
At the end of the workshop we will have the opportunity to create an open sharing of the explorations.
